Microsoft seemed intent on letting its users take full advantage of its upcoming operating system, the Windows 10.

One of the most highly anticipated new features of the Windows 10 that gamers have been looking for is the option that would allow Xbox games to be streamed directly to the desktop, and Microsoft will soon be offering it.

This feature will let users play their games away from their televisions or through their tablets.

While this might be a good addition to gaming addicts and users looking for an alternative way to enjoy their Xbox titles, only Xbox One users will be able to access the new feature from the Windows 10.

However, Microsoft knows that not everyone has already shifted to the latest generation console. As such, the firm has decided to stream its older generation titles into the latest OS as well.

In a private demo event held to showcase the new interface of the Xbox One, Microsoft confirmed to Engadget that they will make some of the Xbox 360 titles available to the Windows 10.

It was not elaborated how the streaming will work but a recent announcement on Xbox One's "backward compatibility" with the Xbox 360 seemed to offer clues.

The Redmond-based company was at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles when it confirmed that Xbox One will be able to play select Xbox 360 games.

Users will have to put the Xbox 360 discs on the tray for the console to download before playing the game. For those who bought the game online, the move is much simpler - just download the link to the Xbox One console.

IGN posted a list of Xbox 360 backward compatible games for the Xbox One.

With this new development, more people will be able to take advantage of the streaming service Windows 10 will have once it comes out.

The company initially wanted to allow Xbox 360 games to directly be streamed into the new OS but differences and challenges in hardware specifications prevented them from doing so.

Users who have access to the Preview build of the OS can now test out the streaming service. No final date has been announced for the official market release of Windows 10.
