Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Specs & News: Next Phablet from Samsung Could Be Coming in August
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be the next large-screened smartphone from Samsung. It will be an update to the Galaxy Note 4, and if rumors are true, Samsung wants to get it out in August to beat out Apple's next release of an update iPhone, according to TechRadar.
The Galaxy Note 4 has a large screen and body that makes it very difficult to hold in one hand. It is also very expensive. Since the Galaxy Note 4's release, Samsung has redesigned the Galaxy S6 and they could do the same for the Galaxy Note 5.
SamMobile has suggested that the Galaxy Note 4 could even come out as early as July, but the president of Samsung, Jong-Kyun Shin denied that and odds are it comes out in late August.
The Galaxy Note 5 is being referred to as Project Zen in some leaks. The name of the smartphone might include the S6 series in it.
It is unclear what the Galaxy Note 5's body will look like but it could mix the design of the Galaxy Note 4 and Samsung's view of a Galaxy S7 could look like.
There are hints that there could be a curved display on the Galaxy Note 5. Samsung could also release a standard version of the Galaxy Note 5 and a curved display called the Galaxy Note 5 Edge.
The screen on the Galaxy Note 5 will either be a 2K or a 4K display, meaning extremely crisp images. The screen size is expected to be the same size as the Galaxy Note 4, measuring in at 5.7 inches. The new smartphone will use the recently released Exynos 7422 processor that Samsung designed.
Wireless charging was missing from the Galaxy Note 4. The Galaxy S6 offers this feature and it is becoming more of a standard for smartphones. This is something that the Galaxy Note 5 might consider offering.
One really interesting feature that could become a reality on the Galaxy Note 5 is automatic S-pen ejection. This means that users will be able to ask the Galaxy Note 5 to eject its stylus from the device when a button, a verbal command or gesture is performed.
