It seems that Roger Federer is more than ready and prepared to take home his eighth Wimbledon this 2015. The 33-year-old Swiss was in good form at the grass court in the Halle Open where he beat Italian Andreas Seppi to take home his eighth title in the tournament held in Germany.

Federer was the defending champion of the tournament also known as the Gerry Weber Open. His victory against Seppi in the finals marks the most times he has won in any other tournament he has played at including the Wimbledon.

The 33-year-old was a bit slow in the first set and at one point lagged behind the 31-year-old Italian with 5-4 in the first set but was able to dig deep to even out at 5-5 and eventually took the first set, reported Express.

He defeated Seppi with 7-6, 6-4 to take home the trophy.

The player who was eliminated by compatriot Stan Wawrinka at the quarterfinals in the recently concluded French Open was happy with his win.

"Of course it's a special moment for me, to win here for the eighth time before Wimbledon," said Federer. "It doesn't happen without making an impression."

His win at the Halle Open is the fourth title for the player for this season. The world's No. 2 player in Men's Tennis also succeeded in taking the trophy in Dubai, Brisbane and Istanbul this season, noted CNN.

The player hopes his win in Germany signifies good fortune in the upcoming Wimbledon. He believes the tournament plays an important role in making him ready for the annual tournament held in England.

"I was the first to win Halle and go on to win Wimbledon," Federer said, as stated on the official Wimbledon website. "Which I think for the tournament was really important for them to show all the other players around the world that Halle is the perfect preparation for Wimbledon."

He added that the more opportunities he gets to play allows him more time to prepare for the tournament and be better at it.

"I like that we have a roof here," continued the nine-time Wimbledon finalist. "There's always something going on for TV, media and fans to see. I think it's an ideal preparation. They're making it a better and better grass-court event every year."

The Swiss player has been very vocal about his desire to take home another Wimbledon title this year and to move forward from the seven Wimbledon titles record he shares with Pete Sampras.

Wimbledon will begin on June 29.
