The Pebble Time smartwatch will now be available to the general public for pre-ordering. Until now, the smartwatch was only made available to backers of the Kickstarter campaign, according to Tech Crunch.

Those who backed the Kickstarter campaign for the Pebble Time have already seen their devices being shipped. The general public can pre-order the device through Best Buy's website or Pebble's website. They can expect to receive the Pebble Time in the middle of July.

The Pebble Time is Pebble's first color smartwatch. They are also set to release the Pebble Steel device later this year. The Pebble Steel is currently only being made available to backers of the Kickstarter campaign.

Using the latest Pebble OS, the Pebble Time has a new system of notifications that is based on a timeline. Users will be able to see what is coming up in the day and what has already happened.

The Pebble Time is compatible with both iOS and Android, but it will be even more powerful for Android users.

The Pebble Time has a 1.25 inch color e-paper display with an LED backlight. This type of display allows the Pebble Time's display to be read easily in daylight. The device comes with a 3D accelerometer, compass, light sensor and microphone.

The Pebble Time also has an incredible battery life, lasting up to seven days without a charge. This is a huge advantage over the Apple Watch, which needs to be charged daily.

Instead of using a touchscreen, the Pebble Time uses four separate buttons to navigate through the smartwatch. There are a total of four buttons, one on the left and three on the right of the Pebble Time.

According to TechRadar, the Pebble Time is cheaper than most other smartwatches, costing just $199. It is available in black, white or red. In-store availability could be announced soon.
