OnePlus seems determined to fix the persistent problem that has plagued the touch screen of its OnePlus One units. The company has recently came out with the OxygenOS 1.01 update to address this concern.

Earlier in June, the company acknowledged that many have been complaining about the unresponsiveness of their screens in their forum. It has since announced that a new update based on the Android 5.1 Lollipop called the CM 12.1 will be available soon, although no exact date had been given.

At that time, it admitted that the development of the OxygenOS based on the Android 5.1 system is on hold as the developers put all their efforts in preparing the OS that would come with the OnePlus Two model.

Last week the company released an update on its CyanogenOS to address the touch screen problem that owners running on the said operating system have been experiencing. Now, another upgrade has been made available to those running on the OyxgenOS build in hopes of finally putting to rest the touch screen issue.

The new announcement was made in the forum. It introduced the new OxygenOS 1.01 build to those who are currently running the operating system in their OnePlus devices. The update is 716MB in size and contains a patch that the company hopes will finally fix the glitch that has affected all screens of its OnePlus One units.

The touch screen problem has been reported to OnePlus as early as last year. The Chinese manufacturer was quick in looking into the problem but was unsuccessful in completely fixing it. It tried once again to address the unresponsiveness of the screen with a new CM11S 33R update but the new build only succeeded in part, reported NDTV.

While the new build has been made available for download via the OnePlus forum, the post did not include a complete changelog of the upgrade and it's unclear what other issues the new Oxygen OS 1.01 will fix when installed apart from the screen unresponsiveness.

The post on the forum also provided a way for users to update to the new OxygenOS from CyanogenMod (CM) 11 or 12. The new migration tool was designed by Fastboot Mobile in collaboration with XDA and will help users switch operating systems without losing any of the data stored on their phone.

However, the post warned that the available tool is still in beta version and might not work as expected. With the beta version now available, this tool can make migrating from CyanogenOS to OxygenOS a lot easier in the future.
