Rick Ross Arrested for Allegedly Committing Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery and Kidnapping
"Hood Billionaire" rapper Rick Ross is behind bars, reports TMZ.
Ross was arrested Wednesday morning in Fayette County, Georgia and charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery, according to The U.S. Marshals Service.
The Marshals told TMZ that the incident, which happened about two weeks ago, started as a confrontation between Ross and a man working at one of his houses. The assault charge is for a pistol-whipping. The kidnapping charge is because the man was allegedly held against his will at the house.
The Marshals picked up Ross from his main residence, along with his bodyguard, and he was arrested.
According to TMZ, the incident happened at the house that was previously owned by Evander Holyfield.
The U.S. Marshals were contacted by the Fayette County Sheriff's Department to assist in the "Movin' Bass" rapper's arrest. The Marshals usually are called to assist in high profile and dangerous warrants.
The Maybach Music Group founder has had a couple of run-ins with law enforcement over the last year. Two weeks ago, he was busted while driving his Bentley for five "marijuana cigarettes." The arrest also happened in Fayette County.
Rapper 50 Cent filed a lawsuit against Ross on May 23, claiming that Ross posted a sex tape of Lastonia Leviston, an ex-girlfriend who has a child with Ross, which 50 promoted on his website and streamed to worldwide porn sites to taunt Ross. Leviston has already sued 50 Cent for releasing the private sex tape. 50 Cent insists it was Ross who posted the video on the Internet. The video was filmed by Leviston's then-boyfriend Maurice Murray.
In June 2014, the "Sanctified" rapper was arrested in North Carolina because he missed a court date stemming from a 2013 marijuana arrest. The Boss was arrested by the Greensboro Police Department following his performance at SuperJam 2014, which was held at the Greensboro Coliseum. Officials said Ross was cooperative with police and was released from jail after posting bail.
