The LG Volt could be the solution for the budget-minded smartphone shopper that still requires LTE connectivity.

For just $100, the LG Volt can be purchased from Boost Mobile with no contract required, according to CNet. 

This smartphone does not have an impressive list of features, but it does provide LTE connectivity and impressive battery life.

Equipped with a 4.7-inch display, the LG Volt is pretty generic looking. The Volt has an oval home button on the bottom of the handset that sits next to the back and menu buttons. The volume controls can be found on the right side and the lock button on the left side. A headphone jack and infrared sensor can be found on the top of the device. Finally, the microUSB charging port and stereo speakers are found on the bottom of the device.

The screen on the Volt is quite low in resolution, displaying just 960 x 540 pixels. This means that images and videos on the screen will not be HD-quality. The colors on the display are still quite clear and crisp. The display is capable of showing 234 pixels per inch.

Boost Mobile pre-installs several annoying apps onto this phone, but these can be easily deleted though. The Volt will not come with Android 5.0 Lollipop, instead it will use the older Android 4.4 KitKat. Volt users will still be able to use most apps and features that Android offers.

The Volt is equipped with a Nearfield Communications (NFC) sensor. This means that users will soon have access to Android Pay.

For hardware, the Volt uses a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and has 1 GB of RAM. There is 8 GB of storage available and the Volt has a microSD slot capable of expanding the storage to 32 GB.

Because the Volt is a budget phone, it has a pretty basic 8 megapixel camera on the rear and just a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front of the device.

The Volt comes with a removable 3,000 mAh battery capable of 24 hours of talk time, according to LG.
