'Need For Speed' Update & Release Date: 'NFS 2015' Video Game Size Revealed at 36GB for PS4?
It seems that PlayStation 4 users looking forward to Electronic Arts' driving simulation game, "Need for Speed," must stock up on space if they intend to play the latest iteration from the franchise.
Some PlayStation online stores have recently listed the file size of the upcoming game and it will need a considerable chunk of space in the console's memory.
"Need for Speed" is listed on the U.S. and EU PlayStation Stores on a pre-order basis. The post included a full description of the upcoming title along with the video output expected from the game as well as its size.
Both websites showed that a minimum of 36GB of memory space is needed to be able to install and access the game.
Memory space requirement too big or just right?
According to Paradiger, the save size is not unusual considering "GTA V" and "Batman Arkham Knight" needed 50GB of space for download. The games seemed to follow the trend of most titles that came out last year, which saw many eat an incredible large amount of space for installation.
However, the Electronic Arts' title is still bigger compared to other racing games out in the market. In fact, it's size is almost double of Evolution Studio's "Driveclub" and Slightly Mad Studios' "Project CARS," which only needed 17GB of disk space.
The space required seemed justified with the fact that "NFS" is an open-world game similar to Microsoft Studios' "Forza Horizon," noted Attack of the Fanboy.
Meanwhile, Tech Times reported that the game's developer, Ghost Games, has decided to mix key elements from previous titles of "NFS" and include them in the reboot game for a better gameplay experience.
Based from the trailer unveiled at the E3 event in Los Angeles, "NFS" will combine factors from Underground, Rivals and Hot Pursuit to bring out an excellent quality game for its fans.
With this in mind, it's not irregular that the file size of the upcoming title will be as big as reported.
More ways to enjoy the game
"NFS" players can enjoy the upcoming title in five ways, according to the "Need For Speed" blog. These include style, build, speed, crew and outlaw.
"NFS" will be exclusive to the current generation consoles PS4 and Xbox One as well as the PC. EA will release both a standard and deluxe edition of the game for those who want extra freebies to accompany their game.
"Need For Speed" will be available in the U.S. on November 3 while the European release will be on November 5.
