Timothy Bradley will look to move one step closer to becoming a world champion again when he faces Jessie Vargas on Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Bradley, who holds a 31-1-1 record with 12 knockout victories, is coming off a split decision victory against Diego Gabriel Chaves in their non-title fight in December last year, which came eight months after losing his World Boxing Organization welterweight title to Manny Pacquiao.

Bradley was previously listed among the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world, but everything changed when he was dominated by Pacquiao in April last year, which was the lone defeat of his career.

The 31-year-old former world champion said he is proud of what he has accomplished and he is ready to silence his critics on Saturday night. When asked about his motivation, Bradley said he is determined to win his fifth world title and he is also eyeing to cement his status as a future Hall of Famer.

"I don't want them to think twice. I want them to say this guy belongs in the Hall of Fame, period," Bradley told ESPN. "I want them to say I was a true fighter, a true warrior. That's my ultimate goal, to become a Hall of Famer."

Bradley knows most analysts are already counting him out and are predicting a victory for Vargas, who holds a perfect 26-0 record with nine knockouts and is trained by legendary Mexican boxer Erik Morales. The 26-year-old is also younger and taller, but Bradley is confident he can put a blemish on Vargas' record.

"We fighting another young, tough guy, undefeated, another champion on the resume. I am highly motivated for this fight," Bradley added. "Jessie Vargas is a real credible opponent. He's undefeated. I want to be the one to put the first loss on his record."

On the other hand, Vargas is also oozing with confidence and he believes he has what it takes to win against a much-experienced fighter like Bradley. When asked to give a fearless forecast, Vargas confidently said that he will run away with a convincing win -- either by decision or knockout.

"Jessie Vargas by unanimous decision or a KO win," Vargas told On The Ropes Boxing Radio. "I'm going the KO win that's for sure, and I hope I get it. I'm very positive that it will come. Like I said earlier, I've never felt this strong before, I feel very strong and very comfortable. As soon as I connect him with the right punch, he will go down."
