According to the latest in tech rumors, Apple will debut its next iPhone (presumably called the iPhone 6) in June.

Apple Insider reports that Sun Changxu, a Chinese analyst, revealed to QQ Tech, a Chinese website, that production for the iPhone 6 will kick off as early as May. According to Changxu, the goal is to have the phone ready for June's Worldwide Developer's Conference.

The website says that Changxu also discussed some features of the upcoming phone.

The iPhone 6 will reportedly have 4.7-inch screen with 1136 x 640 pixel display.

In addition, we are again hearing the rumor that Apple will release a "phablet" -- a combination of phone and tablet. Changxu reports that this will come as an iPhone 6 variant and have a 5.7-inch screen with better resolution.

Changxu's pixel resolution predictions appear to be realistic.

"[Apple] has been maintaining a small, consistent array of screen sizes and aspect ratios," PC Magazine reports. "Programmers currently handle three aspect ratios: 3:2, 4:3, and 16:9, and four resolutions: 320 by 480, 1,024 by 768, 1,136 by 640, and 2,048 by 1,536. The 320-by-480, 3:2 ratio is on its way out..." 

Recently, it was reported that Apple's 2010 deal with Liquidmetal Technologies could mean that the iPhone 6 will feature liquidmetal alloys in its home button, touch sensors and tamper resistant screws.

"...patent applications proposes using Liquidmetal alloys in pressure sensors such as those found in buttons and switches on mobile devices, offering greater durability under repeated use," MacRumors said. "Figures accompanying the patent application closely resemble the iconic home button found on Apple's iOS devices."

The patents were not proven to belong to Apple, but according to MacRumors, "the inventors listed on the patents are Apple employees who have routinely been associated with the company's work on Liquidmetal alloys in the past."
