South Korean tech firm LG unveiled the G4 smartphone in May and many are already eager to get their hands on the company's latest flagship unit. For those who are still thinking if the new smartphone is worth shelling out hundreds of dollars for, here are some details that might help in your decision-making.

The latest offering from LG took a different route when it announced that its hardware will come in premium leather. Of course, those who are keen on having a smartphone that looks sleeker, a metallic coated plastic back case as well as a ceramic-coated plastic case are also available options, reported Tech Radar.

Photography enthusiasts will enjoy the new camera in the phone. It boasts of having one of the best mobile phone cameras out in the market now with a 16MP camera that has 0.6-second shutter speed and f/1.8 aperture and will be a great help in capturing images during low light conditions.

LG did not skimp on improving the battery life of its latest smartphone. The G4 was tested side by side with other leading mobile devices in the market such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6 and it easily beat the two in terms of battery consumption.

A report on Tech Times said that when placed under the GFXBench Battery Test, the G4 emerged as the winner, probably owing its advantage to a bigger battery and "slightly less powerful specs."

With its amazing features, it is expected that LG's G4 will come with the latest operating system for users to maximize its power and specifications. While many Android phones out in the market are still waiting for the arrival of Android 5.1. Lollipop update, the South Korean company has already announced that the flagship phone is not currently lined up for the update.

The O2 and LG Hellas Facebook page revealed that no news is currently available as to when the G4 would receive Android 5.1. This has led many to speculate that the new device will skip the update altogether and come with Android M instead.

LG has yet to confirm this rumor.

Given its specifications, an unlocked G4 can be copped in the U.S. for around $600. However, a recent offering in eBay sells the flagship unit for only $500, noted GSM Arena.

The unit is an unlocked European edition that comes with the metallic casing.

LG has also made a mid-range G4 Stylus available for those who are not willing to shell out more than $500 for their phone.

Of course, the model is outfitted with lower specifications but it comes with its own stylus and is priced at around $290 only, reported Techno Buffalo.
