Tennis Star Venus Williams Sells Bel-Air Home Quietly for $6.85M
Tennis star Venus Williams has already handed the keys of her luxury Bel-Air home to two new owners.
Real estate investor Jerome Eisenberg and his wife, Jackie Arthur, bought the California property for $6.85 million in an off market deal, Los Angeles Times reported.
Christine Taylor of Gibson International was Williams' agent while Julie Candice of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie'ÂÂs International Real Estate, represented Eisenberg and Arthur.
Williams reportedly purchased the residence six years ago for $5.3 million from film director Joel Schumacher. Schumacher helmed "Batman Forever" and "Batman & Robin," as noted on IMDB.
The 6,500-square-foot home, constructed in the late 1970s, is sitting on two acres of high-end community lot. It has four bedrooms and five bathrooms. The former residence of the tennis player, who ranks third in most number of wins at Wimbledon (singles), also showcases a formal living room equipped with a fireplace, a gym, a home office and a renovated kitchen that comes with a breakfast area.
Meanwhile, the home's master suite comes with a walk-in closet, a huge bath tub and a spa-like shower.
The notable architectural details in the house are its arched entryway, sloped ceilings displaying exposed beams, wide and tall windows that allow natural morning light to enter and fill the room, and flooring lined with wood or smooth and shiny concrete.
Outdoors, the ground displays a swimming pool with a raised spa. Friends may linger and chat for a while in the lovely and charming patio. It also has a lighted tennis court where Venus may have practiced in while preparing for big tournaments.
Although Venus has sold her property, she may still be seen in the area from time to time as her younger sister of two years, Serena, the current WTA No.1 singles tennis player, has her own home just near Venus' old property. Serena bought her Bel-Air estate in 2006 for nearly $6.6 million, according to Variety.
