G-Unit Rapper Kidd Kidd Arrested for Alleged Domestic Violence [Watch]
Rapper Kidd Kidd was arrested before the 2015 XXL Freshman concert Tuesday in Times Square in New York, reports TMZ.
The G-Unit rapper was handcuffed by undercover police outside the Best Buy Theater in front of hundreds of fans. He was scheduled to perform at the XXL 2015 Freshman Class concert.
The NYPD arrested Kidd Kidd, whose real name is Curtis Stewart, for allegedly assaulting and strangling a woman during a domestic dispute earlier this year.
While TMZ does not name the victim, rumor has it she's Miss Globe Jamaica 2014 and video vixen Maurita Robinson. Robinson appeared in many G-Unit videos. She and Kidd Kidd dated.
In early May, Robinson accused the "I Am" rapper of domestic violence during a trip the couple took to Las Vegas. She posted photos of her bloody, swollen and busted face to Instagram, along with messages about being a battered girlfriend, including the picture below:
The New Orleans rapper responded to her allegations by posting a video to social media vehemently denying that he beat Robinson.
Details of the alleged domestic violence are unknown at this time.
50 Cent, who was at the XXL 2015 Freshman Class concert, performed in Kidd Kidd's place, as did other artists in the G-Unit family.
Kidd Kidd is no stranger to violence. In 2011, while standing in his mother's driveway in New Orleans, two gunmen fired 32 shots at him. He was shot six times; in the leg and abdomen, reports MTV.
The "Watch Me" rapper was discovered by Lil Wayne while rapping on a street corner in New Orleans. He was one of the first members of Wayne's Young Money Entertainment label, but eventually the two parted ways. In 2011, he signed a record deal with 50 Cent's G-Unit Records and in 2014 joined the reformed East Coast hip hop group, G-Unit.
In 2015, Kidd Kidd was selected for XXL Magazine's annual Freshman Class.
