The Wanted Break Up: Boy Band Announces The Split Up Right After Their Tour Ends, Fan Reaction
The British boy band The Wanted has announced that they are breaking up. They have given us the usual generic reasons as to why they are dismembering but we are waiting to hear a real reason why. Max George, one of the group members tweeted another reason why.
So The Wanted didn't have the success that One Direction has. Now that they have announced that they are splitting up, this seems like a decision maybe based on that? "I'm Glad You Came" was the bands biggest hit and yet premiering around the same time as One Direction serve the band some tough competition. These two had a modern day Backstreet Boys vs. NSYNC rivalry (though I'm not comparing 'cause the early 2000s rule).
The band announced that after finishing the Word of Mouth tour that they are soon to embark in, they will go their separate ways. The announcement on their behalf was posted on their website saying: "This tour will be their last for a while as Tom, Max, Jay, Siva and Nathan have collectively decided to take time to pursue personal endeavors following the tour's conclusion. The band wants to stress to their fans that they will continue on as The Wanted and look forward to many successful projects together in the future. They thank their fans for their continued love and support and look forward to seeing them on tour."
Although the statement says that they will reunite in the "future," this often leaves a slight chance of it actually happening. Max George, one of The Wanted band members, took to his twitter to tell fans: "It's the right time for myself and the other boys to have some time to try and achieve other things in our lives and careers". Fans have responded saying things like "we'll support you in whatever you choose to do. Love you forever," and "just as long as you're all happy." You also have the fans that have simply replied, "ill dm u nudes," but that's normal for Max we're sure.
The Word of Mouth tour comes to an end on May 17 so we will see what the boys will individually do after that. Do you think they have a chance at solo careers? Or will they prefer to just go home and go to sleep?
