Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will be back in action in Wimbledon Thursday as they continue their quest for another Grand Slam title to their list. Federer will face Sam Querrey of the United States immediately followed by Nadal's match against Germany's Dustin Brown at the Centre Court.

The Swiss was in fine form as he dominated his 23-year-old opponent Damir Dzumhur to advance to the second round of matches. In spite of the heat wave that has plagued the tournament, Federer won the match in three straight sets with 6-1, 6-3, 6-3 in a total of 68 minutes.

"You always try to focus on every point in the first round. Try not to lose a set or in the end, the match," said the 33-year-old to The Guardian. "I was trying to be aggressive and I am always happy to win like that."

Initially, it seemed that the Sarajevo-born player has what it takes to pull a potential upset but Federer's prowess was too much for Dzumhur, reported The Daily Mail. The 23-year-old came up with eight double faults for the duration of the match that seemed to add to his disintegrating confidence.

As Federer cruised past the round easily, his next opponent from the United States might prove to be a harder target than Dzumhur. Querrey was once successful on the grass court as he defeated Mardy Fish in 2010 to take home the Queen's Club trophy.

The match between Federer and Querrey will mark the third time the two will meet on the court. The Swiss won all of their past games and it remains to be seen if Querrey can pull one from the Grand Slam title holder this time.

Meanwhile, Nadal will face Brown in the second round after he successfully defeated Thomaz Bellucci in their opening match in Wimbledon.

A look of relief came over the Spanish player when he knew he'd be advancing to the next round. Nadal entered the London Grand Slam event seeded at No. 10, his lowest in more than a decade.

"I played OK. I played solidly," the player said, as quoted by The Daily Mail. "Very good with my backhand today. My forehand, always OK. But I think I can do it better. I can play more winners down the line. But it was a positive victory, without any doubt."

Nadal's game against the German in the second round of matches will also be the second time that the two will face each other. Brown defeated the Spanish player in Halle last year and many will be looking forward to the rematch to see if Nadal can come out as the victor this time.

"He's [Brown] a tough player," Nadal told Steve G Tennis. "He won today against good opponent. Probably he will come with good confidence. I'm going to try to be ready for it."
