Listen to This Drunk Manchester United Fan Call Police In An Attempt to Speak with Former Club Manager Alex Ferguson [VIDEO]
A drunken man called 999, which is the British number for the police, and demanded in his stupor to speak with the former boss of Manchester United following the disappointing loss at Old Trafford against the Sunderland Black Cats earlier this week.
A drunken man from Crumpsall called Greater Manchester Police (GMP) on Wednesday after the team lost to Sunderland at the Capital One Cup semi-finals. The man opened the call by asking to speak to Mr. Ferguson before purportedly telling the call handler that the result was wrong and it was a "total and utter load of rubbish."
After being asked if he wanted to report a crime, the man said, "Yes and indeed a serious one. The crime is that Manchester United was absolutely knackered." Towards the end of the call the man asked if the police could call him back. He was warned against the inappropriate use of the police line.
The call was released by the Greater Manchester Police to the Manchester Evening News and captures the drunken fan begging to speak with legendary former Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The drawn match resulted in a penalty shoot-out which Manchester United lost; leading Sunderland to win 2-1 thereby denying their old rivals a chance in the Cup.
New boss David Moyes is having a hard time with the team. Recently, a fan wrote on a Manchester United fan page: "I have been a fan for 17 years now and I have surely seen the good times the team has had in most competitions, normally when we invite teams at old Trafford, everyone enjoys it since we play like wild cats and put fear into the opposite teams even before they set foot at old Trafford, everyone used to be afraid of the team including the club managers, but I am afraid that those days are nearly over."
A disappointing season for Manchester United fans, who can only hope their team will return to top form soon.
