Hilary Duff talked to Pride Source about her new album "Breathe In. Breathe Out." while dishing details about her personal life and more.

The former Disney child star admits that she will go on tour for her new record, after taking a big break from the music industry in nearly seven years. Duff has spent a lot of time raising her three-year-old son Luca and getting to find her true self. It was then that she realized it was the perfect time to get back to work.

"My son had just started school and obviously I was going through a separation and I was like, 'I can't just up and continue work,' and then I was like, 'Actually, I can and I'm going to,'" the star recalled her transition back into the entertainment industry.

Before signing onto RCA records for her new album, she started a role on the TV Land show "Younger."

"I put a pause on the record and then came back to it after Christmas. It was a great thing for me," the actress turned singer said. "It helped turn the record into a proper direction."

Luckily for her, "Younger" was picked up for a second season while she plans her world tour for the new album.

Yet, the star noted that she cannot make long world tours for five months at a time like she used to, stating, "Obviously my child is my number one priority, but I think I can do a month at a time and then come back and then go back out for a month."

Duff filed for divorce against her husband Mike Comrie earlier this year, People reports. At one point, she was on the dating mobile app site Tinder but has decided to stop using it.

Meanwhile, Duff commended another former Disney star child, Miley Cyrus.

"This industry is a tough one to crack, but then I look at someone like Miley, and as crazy people might think the whole thing is, I commend her," Duff said. "She's so wholeheartedly being herself and is unapologetic about that and she's doing a great job."

"Breathe In. Breathe Out." is set to be released on June 12.
