WWE SmackDown Spoilers, Results for July 9, 2015: Paul Heyman Confronts Seth Rollins, Will Brock Lesnar Appear?
"WWE SmackDown" landed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for its latest tapings, and while Brock Lesnar does not appear, his advocate Paul Heyman was on the show.
The "SmackDown" taping started with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. The Cadillac, which Lesnar destroyed during "Monday Night Raw," appeared, as did Heyman. Rollins and Heyman traded remarks as they promoted the champion's match against Lesnar at "WWE Battleground."
The first match of the night was Dean Ambrose in a rematch against Bo Dallas. As seen during "Raw," Ambrose defeated Dallas, again, with Dirty Deeds.
Rusev made his wrestling return, notably wearing boots. He defeated Fandango in a squash match.
Roman Reigns and Big Show had a match, but it ended in disqualification as Bray Wyatt appeared. Similar to Monday's show, a fake Wyatt surfaced. As Reigns moved to attack the fake Wyatt, the real one appeared, hit him and thus caused the disqualification. Wyatt would then hit two Sister Abigails.
Ahead of the WWE Tag Team Championship match at "Battleground," Titus O'Neil defeated Big E. New Day members Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were ejected from the match.
Following his return on Monday, Randy Orton delivered a promo in the ring. Orton's promo was focused on Money in the Bank winner Sheamus. The Ascension, however, interrupted, and Orton delivered two RKOs.
The Divas are next for tag-team competition. Brie Bella and Alicia Fox defeated Naomi and Tamina Snuka.
For the main event, it was Rollins vs. Ryback. Eventually, Rollins ran away, and the match ended by count-out, which gave Ryback the victory. Big Show appeared to beat down Ryback, but Rollins made the save to help end the show.
"WWE SmackDown" airs weekly on Thursday at 8 p.m. EST on SyFy.
