Mega Millions Numbers & Results July 7, 2015: Live Stream of Drawing Time; $106M Jackpot
So you picked up a Mega Millions ticket and hope to convert yourself into a millionaire tonight? Then don't forget to tune in at 11 p.m. EST, which is when the draw for the $106 million jackpot is set to take place at the studios of WSB-TV, Atlanta's ABC affiliate.
If you're lucky enough to hit the jackpot and want to take home every last penny, the total prize will be paid out in annual installments over a 29-year period. Otherwise, you have the option of an immediate payout of a lump sum of about $64 million.
The lottery's winning numbers from the last drawing on July 7 were 6, 15, 16, 28 and 49; the Mega Ball number was 14; and the Megaplier number was 3, according to the game's official website. The estimated jackpot had been $96 million, but no one matched the winning Mega Millions numbers on that day, MLive noted.
The highest payouts, thus, were a $3 million win and a $1 million prize, respectively, which went to players in Arkansas and an unspecified location. Both participants matched five numbers, but only one of them had ticked the the Megaplier.
Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday, and the draw entry closes at 10:45 p.m. EST. Tickets to the game are sold in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands -- a total of 45 jurisdictions. The odds of winning any prize are about 1 in 15, but your chances of hitting the jackpot are only about 1 in 259 million.
If those figures sound discouraging, you might want to consider a case from England, where a retired truck driver and his wife in April managed to win a $1.5 million lottery -- for the second time, The Associated Press reported.
For good measure, David and Kathleen Long also took home a car in the EuroMillions Mega Friday Draw. They beat odds of 283 billion to 1, lottery operator Camelot said.
