Canada vs. Jamaica CONCACAF Gold Cup 2015: Live Stream, Preview, Predictions, Rosters, Schedule
Jamaica will look to pick up some ground in Group B when it takes on Canada in its second game of the tournament.
The Reggae Boyz picked up a big point in their opening game against the group's toughest side, Costa Rica. Despite jumping out to an early team, the team was overwhelmed by Los Ticos at the end of the first half and wound up conceding a two goals in just four minutes. Fortunately the team earned a quick goal after the halftime break and wound up with the point.
After that game, things should get easier for Jamaica and there will be no bigger opportunity to secure three points from this group than the game against Canada.
The co-hosts surprised in their opener, a 0-0 draw with El Salvador. The team held its own, but there should be no surprise about its inability to score goals. This is not a team primed for a deep run; if Jamaica wants to win big, then this is the game it has to win handedly.
It will not be easy however as Jamaica actually has a poor record against the Canadians. In 18 previous meetings, Jamaica has won four, drawn six and lost eight. The last meeting between these teams, an international friendly played on Sept. 9, 2014, ended in a 3-1 win for Canada.
However, the Canadians are still the lowest ranked FIFA squad in this group (103) and were not particularly inspiring against El Salvador.
Prediction: It is hard to bet against Jamaica at this juncture. They are the clear favorites and should manage a solid 2-0 win out of this match. It could even be a blowout.
