Powerball Numbers & Results July 11, 2015: Watch Live Stream Of Drawing For $50 Million Jackpot
Saturday’s chance at winning big at Powerball is here, and since no one won the grand prize on Wednesday -- when the numbers were 4,15, 25, 27, 30, and 18 -- all that money has rolled over and is now at $50 million with a cash value of $30.5 million.
There were 333,668 regulars winners, and $4,702,513 in non-jackpot money was won. There are nine ways to win at Powerball, with a 1 in 175,223,510.00 in winning the grand prize and a 1 in 5,153,632.65 in winning $1,000,000.
So the odd of winning are pretty slim, and they are actually about to get even slimmer. If everything goes as planned the odds of winning Powerball are about to become 1 in 292,201,338, which will end up being good for anyone that wins.
According to Walt Hickey, a lifestyle writer for the polling aggregation website Five Thirty Eight, “The chances of a Powerball win making some future player a billionaire are radically higher. Like, 7.5 times as high.
“You may not win as often, but whoever does has a decent shot at winning more money than ever."
The new change to Powerball is set to take effect Oct. 4, pending an agreement of the states that offer the game.
Richard McGowan, a Boston College business professor who studies lotteries and gambling, addressed the coming change on NorthJersey.com: “This is a strategy that Powerball folks use every few years to raise the odds of not winning. So it clearly is intended to raise the jackpots but at the same time is quite unfair to the player at the early stages as the jackpots build.”
