Oprah 60th Birthday Party: Star Cancels Bash Because Too Many Guests Were Invited
Oprah is turning 60th and has been planning quite the shindig for the last few months.
However, we've just learned according to E! News, the party is off. Sources say that Oprah has cancelled the festivities for her 60th birthday celebration because "the guest list was getting out of control so she decided to cancel."
The Hollywood A-list party inviting the likes of Julia Robers, Tom Cruise, the Obamas and Beyonce was scheduled for January 29, the star's birthday and to be celebrated in Santa Barbara.
Daily News reports the invitations were ready to go but the plan has been put on ice for what may be a very low-key celebration with close friends and family.
But the world's most powerful woman doesn't seem to be sweating it, she's sweating it OUT. Winfrey and about 50 of her close friends had a low-key and healthy celebration Friday by attending a spinning class together at SoulCycle located in West Hollywood.
Winfrey said in a video posted on her Instagram page, "I just had the best birthday experience ever at SoulCycle."
Class instructor Angela Davis was sure to use all of Oprah's favorite songs during the 45 minute workout. A source said to E! News that during the class, everyone wore blue shirts with "Happy Birthday Oprah" written on it.
However, Gayle King, CBS co-anchor and Oprah's best-friend-forever let everyone in on a little secret; Oprah may not be having a party but this shouldn't stop people from giving gifts. Some of the suggestions of Ms. King include E-books and cashmere.
"It's not like Oprah needs anything, but she loves all things, books...and she's a fan of cashmere. She has everything, but I don't care who you are, everybody likes a present," explains the bestie. "She's still trying to figure out what's the best way to celebrate."
