Moto G (2015) Release Date, Specs & Features: Motorola G 3rd Gen Renders Leaked?
The Motorola Moto G is the company's line of budget smartphones, which lie on a significantly lower price point than their flagship, the Motorola Moto X. With the Motorola Moto G (2015) version likely to come out within the next month, the anticipation for the release of this entry-level phone is at an all-time high due to the strong response for its predecessors.
The most recent development coming out of the rumor mill is a leak of renders of the phone, which were first uploaded on nowhereelse.fr. The images show the phone at various angles: from the side, from the top, from the back cover and at the front of the phone. However, according to Tech Times, these are renders created for the use of an accessories maker - but are likely close to the truth.
The Moto G (2015) specs have also been out on the rumor mill for quite some time now. The Moto G (2015) will reportedly pack a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 5" inch HD screen, expandable memory, a 13MP camera and Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The phone is also going to have a Snapdragon 410 chipset - an upgrade from the Snapdragon 400 chipset they used in previous phones.
The rumor mill also says that the Moto G will be released in August, close to the September release of the previous iteration.
Overall, the design and specs it packs do not seem to be that different from previous models - except for the upgraded chipset and camera, and the improved design. However, Motorola has achieved a large amount of success with its Moto G series in the past and hopes to continue that trend with the Moto G (2015.)
The Moto G (2015) will be the follow up to the Motorola Moto G (2014), which was released last year with great success and positive reviews, following the first Moto G, which still remain's Motorola's best-selling smartphone of all time.
The Moto G (2014) was praised primarily for its powerful specs, great screen, and strong performance at an incredibly low price point compared to its other budget competitors, with most remarking that it is likely one of the most bang-for-your-buck phones on the market.
The second iteration of the Moto G was equipped with a 5.0" screen, an 8MP camera, 1GB of Ram, a Snapdragon 400 chipset, and a 2070 mAh battery. A regular non-carrier model of this phone is currently priced at $179.99 at Amazon.
