'Downton Abbey' Season 6 News Update: Where Will the Ladys of Downton Abbey Be Next?
With "Downton Abbey" ending after the sixth season, a number of actors will be looking for new series, shows and possibly plays. So what will the cast members do next?
Jessica Brown Findlay: Findlay played Lady Sybil Crawley in the hit series and has became a stand out in the cast. While the actress has already scored some film roles in movies like "Winter's Tale" and "Albatross," Brown Findlay looks like she will continue doing more film as she has just been cast in "This Beautiful Fantastic" with Tom Wilkinson and Jeremy Irvine. She will also be in the anticipated "Victor Frankenstein" with Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy as well as "Everything Carries Me To You."
Michelle Dockery: Dockery plays the lead Lady Mary Crawley in "Downton Abbey" and has become an icon for her work in the show. With the show ending, it looks like Dockery will get another lead in a series entitled "Good Behavior." The show will air on TNT and is based on the books by "Wayward Pines" writer Blake Crouch, which stars "a young lady called Letty Dobesh who has recently been released from prison, only to find herself in a different sort of trouble after she overhears a hitman getting hired and decides to try and stop the plot." Unlike a lot of her co-stars, Dockery will stick to TV and continue her status as a leading actress in the medium.
Maggie Smith: The legendary actress plays Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham on the hit show and has won numerous accolades for her work. Throughout the years on the show, the actress has maintained her presence as a TV and film actress and has been in films such as "Quartet" and "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel." Smith will next be seen in Nicholas Hytner's new film "The Lady in the Van."
Laura Carmichael: Outside of "Downton Abbey" Carmichael is fairly unknown as she has only been in "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" and "Madame Bovary" in supporting roles. Next year she is expected to play the lead role in the upcoming Indie film "Burn Burn Burn."
