Tour De France 2015 Stage 11 Live Stream, Route Map, Standings: Chris Froome Aims To Remain in Control
Chris Froome extended his lead on Tuesday and the Team Sky rider will look to remain in control in Stage 11 of the 2015 Tour De France on Wednesday.
Froome was just 12 seconds ahead of his closest rival in the general classification heading into Stage 10, but the Briton proved he is a force to reckon with by dominating in the first summit finish of the tour, while his rivals struggled to keep in step with him.
On Wednesday, Froome will look to pick up from where he left off as the riders are facing another tough course. The peloton will face a 188-kilometer ride from Pau to Cauterets, featuring six categorized climbs.
Froome and the rest of the pack will have to withstand the dreaded hors category climb at Col du Tourmalet before the stage ends with a category 3 climb at Cote de Cauterets.
There will also be category 4 climb at Cote de Bagneres-de-Bigorre, two more category 3 climbs at Cote de Loucrup and Cote de Mauvezin, and a category 1 climb at Col d'Aspin before the crucial Cote de Tourmalet challenge.
Based on the way he performed during the 10th stage of the 2015 Le Tour, Froome is ranked among the favorites to win on Wednesday. For fellow Briton Adam Yates of Orica, Froome's performance during Stage 10 was actually enough for him to prove he is on track to run away with the championship this year.
"With that performance, Chris Froome is by far the strongest and in my opinion he is probably going to win the Tour," Yates told reporters via BBC. "I was in a good position because we took it easy on the team time trial but I could not go much harder than I did today, I was pretty full gas."
