"Shadowhunters," the upcoming ABC Family TV show based on author Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments" book series, is currently filming and one of its anticipated heartthrobs has already started engaging with fans on Twitter.

Dominic Sherwood, who portrays Jace Wayland in the series, held a Twitter Q&A session with fans on Tuesday from his account @DomSherwood1.

One subject of great interest to fans are the variety of weapons used by the Shadowhunters. Most weapons are forged by the Iron Sisters and marked with Runes capable of killing demons. The weapons are stored in the Alicante's Armory or hidden caches in churches.

A fan asked what the actor's favorite weapon is in the storyline to which Sherwood said, "Jace's razor sharp wit."

When another fan asked, "Who would win in a fight, Christian Oreza or Jace Wayland?" Sherwood wrote, "Jace, of course!"

In the story, Sherwood's character comes in contact with The Silent Brothers, a powerful sect of male Shadowhunters who serve as Nephilim archivists and medics. Fans asked the actor what he thinks about the Silent Brothers, to which he replied: "Now that I've met them, I do have nightmares about the Silent Brothers."

Sherwood had the opportunity to recently meet Clare who visited the actors on set. Sherwood tweeted that "Meeting Cassie was wonderful but a little daunting meeting the brainchild of all this."

Fans wanted to know what Sherwood thinks of Katherine McNamara, who plays Clary Fray. He said, "Little girl," which was a reference to dialogues between their characters in the book series.

He described co-star Harry Shum Jr., who plays Magnus Bane, as "fabulous," and said the best thing about Matthew Daddario, who plays Alec Lightwood, is that "He gets a little crazy after midnight."

There were a couple of personal questions. One of the strangest reveals during the Twitter Q&A was Sherwood's answer to what his guilty pleasure is: He's a fan of squirrels.

Watch Sherwood and the cast battle demons when "Shadowhunters" airs on ABC Family in 2016.
