Republican Congressman Steve King wants the country to know that he can be "as Latino" as Julian Castro, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

Mediaite reports the esteemed representative from Iowa took to Twitter to let everyone know that he is just as "Latino" as the Obama administration secretary. Julian Castro is a Mexican-American Democrat who has been rumored as a potential running mate for Hillary Clinton. You can check out the tweet below:

There is one small problem with this tweet: King is from Irish, German, English and Welsh descent while Castro is not.

King, who is known for his controversial comments against immigration, wants English to be the official language of the United States, according to U.S. News and World Report.

King also stated that he wants to end birthright citizenship in the United States. He stated to the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security: "The illegal parents, are they going to decide? Or are we going to decide as representatives of the people of the United States of America?" I suggest that it's our job here in Congress to decide who will be citizens, not someone in a foreign country who can sneak into the United States and have a baby."

King also believes that if the Iowa Caucus were to end today, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will come out on top. During an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo, he had some high remarks towards Trump.

"I think that sometimes you've just got to grab the American people and shake them a little bit and say, you're not paying attention, They pay attention when Donald Trump speaks," the Iowa congressman said.

Castro did not have any statement about Rep. King's tweet.
