iOS 9 New Features & Updates: What To Expect From the New Apple OS
Apple has yet to come out with the iOS 9 but many are already eager to know what's new with the latest operating system from the Cupertino-based company.
Here are some of the new and exciting things to watch out for in the OS that is set to arrive this fall.
The latest features and updates will greatly affect the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, noted Gotta Be Mobile. It remains to be seen if the features will also be the same for previously released units such as the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s that will upgrade to the OS when it comes out.
Some reports have come up that the Apple has finally listened to its customers and decided to improve on the devices' battery life. While the iPhone has been very aggressive on its update when it comes to interface, apps and other extra features, one thing that has plagued the device is its short battery life.
The numerous applications and work that can be done on the unit drains the battery easily and Apple has finally come up with the "Low Power Mode" for users to extend their device's battery life.
The iOS 9 will also introduce the new "Wallet," which will replace the previous "Passbook" app. This will make it easier for owners to use Apple Pay and store credit card details and passes on the device.
Siri will also receive a major overhaul in the upcoming OS. Aside from simply coming back with responses gathered from the Internet, the voice assistant will now be able to scour the gadget and show videos, photos and files based from locations, albums and dates.
The Cupertino-based company has also outfitted iOS 9 with a more powerful and wider search tool. When users input details for a search, the new upgraded tool will not only check the device's files but also show recent contacts, apps and even nearby places and related news.
According to Cheat Sheet, when you look up contacts through the search tool, you can immediately send a message or make a call using the tool.
Apple is also making it easier for owners to use the keyboard. A simple change on the keyboard will show if the Caps Lock On mode has been activated. When the shift mode is on, the letters will all appear in uppercase so that users will not be confused.
iOS 9 will also add variety to how users can choose to keep the security of their devices. Aside from the fingerprint scan and 4-digit numeric code, Cheat Sheet reported that the company has also added options to use a six-digit numeric code or even a personalized alphanumeric code to secure the unit.
No exact date has been given when users can finally expect iOS 9 but rumors have circulated that the new OS will arrive before the company unveils the new iPhone 6s.
