iOS 8.4 Jailbreak News: Unjailbreak Tool Available, iOS 8.4.1 Coming Soon
A new unjailbreak tool is available for users to restore their devices and remove the jailbreak process, Cult of Mac reports.
Each time Apple releases an update to its iOS operating system, they focus on increasing its security, and with that, users who jailbreak their iOS devices might be tempted to unjailbreak.
Once a jailbreak is performed, users lose their ability to perform a system restore on their device. With Apple quickly releasing new security patches that fix exploits used for jailbreaks, users might find that their jailbreak is not working the way they wanted it to or that their device is running slowly. To perform a system restore, they would need to update to the new version of iOS, which would be unjailbreakable.
A new hack called Cydia Impactor allows jailbreak users to perform a system restore, remove their jailbreak and have the iOS return to its default settings. This entire process can be done without upgrading to the latest iOS.
By unjailbreaking, a user could get their device running smoothly again and then reinstall the jailbreak without much effort.
When iOS 8.4 was released, the jailbreak community quickly released an iOS 8.4 jailbreak. Now, just about two weeks later, Apple has already started working on iOS 8.4.1. This software update would address bugs found in iOS 8.4, and it could include a patch that would make the iOS 8.4 jailbreak useless, according to Ecumenical News.
If iOS 8.4.1 patches out the iOS 8.4 jailbreak, that means the jailbreak community only would have been able to enjoy their jailbreak for a couple of weeks.
Apple's security keeps getting better and the next operating system, iOS 9, is expected to be their most secure one yet. This could prove to be troublesome for the jailbreak community, making it extremely difficult to find exploits and perform jailbreaks.
