‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ Could Be First Season to Kill Off Emmy Nominated Sarah Paulson
In the mega-hit horror anthology series on FX, "American Horror Story" has hosted a lot of actors who have reappeared on several seasons of the show -- one of those alum who has appeared in every season of the show is Sarah Paulson.
Paulson spoke with Deadline about Season 5 of the series, "Hotel," and was just as vague to them as she was at Comic-Con this year in San Diego.
"My character's name is Sally Hypodermic," Paulson said. But she also hinted that her character could experience something this upcoming season that none of her other characters has gone through: death.
The four-time Emmy nominated actress, who just earned her fourth for her role in the show's "Freak Show" installment last season, has been with the anthology since the beginning. She started off in Season 1 playing the role of Billie Dean Howard, a southern psychic and minor character in the season.
Paulson has since graduated to starring roles in the series and has garnered a lot of critical praise, giving way to her eventual Emmy nominations.
In regards to her acting abilities, creator Ryan Murphy took a chance with the actress and gave her the opportunity to take on the morbid storylines.
"He [Murphy] threw everything at me and the kitchen sink during season two," Paulson told Deadline. "I had to simulate masturbation, give myself an abortion and breastfeed Zachary Quinto."
But Paulson is not the only actor from "Freak Show" that has been recognized for outstanding acting skills. Finn Wittrock, who played sociopath Dandy Mott, has also earned an Emmy nomination for his role last season.
Wittrock's nomination was in the category of "supporting actor" and he will also be appearing next season in the Lady Gaga-headlined "Hotel" installment.
He spoke about his character next season, describing him as "not a good guy by any means, but a very different person [than 'Dandy']."
Another article on Deadline reports that Richard T. Brooks ("Hot Pursuit") will be joining the cast next season as well.
