The Detroit Tigers will consider several key players before the non-waiver trade deadline, including star pitcher David Price and outfielder Yoenis Cespedes.

The Tigers currently hold a 46-46 record. They are in third place in the American League Central behind the 55-36 Kansas City Royals and 50-42 Minnesota Twins, and are fifth in the wildcard race.

Although they still have a chance to grab a spot in the playoffs, the Tigers are reportedly considering moving both Price and Cespedes because they have little time to decide since the deadline is set on July 31, USA Today reported.

When asked about the possibility of becoming sellers before the deadline, Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski did not give a direct answer, but sounded like they are willing to wait as long as they can until the deadline.

"At this point, our focus is trying to win right now," Dombrowski said. "We're trying to do everything we can to qualify for the playoffs. Things can turn dramatically over a 10-game period. But you have to play well, at some point, on a consistent basis. We're at a point where we have to do what's best in our heart for the franchise."

Both players are expected to draw a lot of attention when they hit the trade market in the coming days. Cespedes is averaging .289 this season with 13 homeruns and 52 RBIs in 92 games with the Tigers this season, while Price is 9-3 with a 2.32 ERA and 127 strikeouts.

According to the report, the Tigers are leaning towards parting ways with Price and Cespedes because both players are set to become free agents after the season, which means they could lose them without getting anything in return if they decide not to trade them before the deadline.

Price is aware of the trade rumors involving him. The 29-year-old said that talks about possible trades involving the Tigers are rampant because they are losing games, but he is not worried about it because he is used to it.

"It's part of it," Price said of the latest trade rumors. "If you have enough time in this league you are going to be a part of this at some point. So, you just have to tune it out as best you can and go about your business as normal."

But if he will have it his way, Price wants to stay in Detroit because he feels they can win with their current lineup if they can get into their rhythm in their remaining games this season.
