"Super Bass" rapper Nicki Minaj tried to clear the air on her alleged swipe at Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" music video.

The singer was said to be disappointed because "Anaconda" was not included in the list of nominees for Best Music Video in the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, E! Online reported. Thus, on Tuesday, the singer expressed her disappointment through Twitter.

"If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year," posted Minaj.

Her other tweet reads, "Oh but trust me. I'll be on that stage to collect my awards for vid of the year. Feeling Myself & Anaconda."

The nominees for the controversial "Video of the Year Award" are the following: Beyoncé for "7/11," Ed Sheeran for "Thinking Out Loud," Taylor Swift ft. Kendrick Lamar for "Bad Blood," Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars for "Uptown Funk" and Kendrick Lamar for "Alright," as revealed on MTV.com  

Based on the list, many music fans assumed that Minaj's tweets were directed to the "Blank Space" singer's video, which Swift conceptualized herself. The "Bad Blood" video features Swift and several celebrities like Selena Gomez, Karlie Kloss, Martha Hunt, Jessica Alba, Serayah, Gigi Hadid, and Cara Delevingne, among others.

The social media savvy singer responded to Minaj's tweet, but for some, Swift may have misunderstood what Minaj was trying to convey.


The curvy singer then replied to Swift with, "Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this. @TaylorSwift13."

A reader, named "becca" tried to explain that Minaj's tweet was not really about Swift, but about "racism in the music industry" in general.

The MTV awards is still happening on Aug. 30 and even though Minaj aired her disappoinments, she might still be looking forward to receiving awards in other categories where she's nominated in like Best Female Video and Best Hip Hop Video for "Anaconda."

Her co-nominees for the Best Female Video are Beyoncé for "7/11," Taylor Swift for "Blank Space," Sia for "Elastic Heart," and Ellie Goulding for "Love Me Like You Do." For Best Hip Hop Video, she will be competing with Fetty Wap for "Trap Queen," Kendrick Lamar for "Alright," Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth for "See You Again" and Big Sean ft. E-40 for "I Don't **** With You."
