Trailer for New Bond Film 'SPECTRE' Drops, New Villain Introduced [Watch]
James Bond is back in the next installment of the 007 franchise as the new trailer for the upcoming film debuted on Wednesday.
Screen Rant reports the newest trailer for "SPECTRE" came out and sheds light on the film's plot. The trailer is packed with references to earlier Bond films and shows what Bond does best: pointing a gun, driving a shiny new Aston Martin and showing up in various exotic places around the world.
The most revealing part about the trailer? The introduction of Bond's newest villain, named Franz Oberhauser (played by Oscar-winning actor Christoph Waltz). In the trailer, he apparently is the leader of the notorious organization called SPECTRE. He has a rather interesting line in the trailer stating: "It was me James, the author of all your pain." Was he responsible for all of Bond's pain? Of all the villains Bond has faced in his career, how does Oberhauser fit into this?
According to the official press release provided by Sony, here is the official synopsis of the film, directed by Sam Mendes:
"In SPECTRE, a cryptic message from Bond's past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE."
Given that this is Mendes' last Bond movie, looks like he is going out with a bang. Mendes is combining the classic Bond action with his gripping storytelling. If you look closely at the trailer, you can see that there are a lot of past Bond films references.
What will be in store for Mr. Bond? You will have to find out when "SPECTRE" hits theaters on Nov. 6, 2015.
