Kate Middleton Fashion 2014: Queen Disapproves of Duchess' Outfits; Orders Longer Skirts for Upcoming Tour
Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has always been admired for her chic ensembles and modern day princess attire.
However, it seems as if the Duchess has found herself a critic who is less than impressed with the way Kate has been dressing.
According to the Daily Mail, the Duchess is about to get a royal makeover as ordered by no less than the Queen herself. With an upcoming tour of Australia, Kate will be advised by the Queen's personal stylist, Angela Kelly. The Duchess is deploying "a couture wardrobe of day dresses with lower hemlines that she has previously favoured."
It's also been reported that Middleton's hair stylist, Amanda Cook Tucker, will be accompanying the Duchess and has recently undergone a master class in tiara attachment. This will better enable the stylist to arrange the Duchess' hair for formal events and place those diamond-filled tiara's securely on the royal's head.
The Duchess is encouraged to don some of the Queen's and Queen Mother's preferred tiaras as well as four outfit changes each day of the nearly four month trip, reports Glamour.
Tucker has been tasked with assisting Kate in selecting statement jewelery and gemstones from the Queen's personal collection. Daily Mail reports among those believed to be under consideration is a diamond and ruby brooch in the form of a hibiscus flower, one of the unofficial emblems of Australia.
Insiders say the Queen would like Kate to project a greater "sense of majesty," given the strong relationship with Australia and New Zealand, Kate is expected to project an image of the future, says royal biographer Sarah Bradford.
The move to eliminate the flirty hemlines is also a conservative measure to minimize possible wardrobe malfunctions as the windy climate of the Southern countries may cause upskirt incidences that may expose the delicate parts of the future Queen.
Fortunately, Kate will still be able to have input on what she will be wearing. The loving mother to baby George has approached her favorite designers and is free to customize dresses from the lines of Alexander McQueen and Alice Termperly.
