WWE SmackDown Spoilers, Results for July 30, 2015: Must-See Main Event with Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens
Tulsa, Oklahoma was the home for Thursday's next "SmackDown" taping with a must-see main event.
Thursday's episode opened with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. He talks about his match against United States Champion John Cena during "Monday Night Raw," which saw Rollins, perhaps accidentally, legitimately breaking Cena's nose. Cesaro interrupted Rollins, and it leads to the first match of the show.
Rollins vs. Cesaro ended in disqualification, in Cesaro's favor, after Kevin Owens attacked him. Owens was at ringside for commentary, but then he attacked Cesaro. Latin Post reported, as last week's "SmackDown" taping concluded, Rollins and Owens had a stare down, but that was only witnessed by those attending last week's taping. This week, however, the stare down was taped. Owens and Rollins teased that they were going to battle, but instead, the two WWE superstars continued to attack Cesaro.
It won't be the last of these superstars tonight, as they will participate in a tag-team match.
The second match of the show was an eight-man tag-team match. Los Matadores and The Lucha Dragons defeated The New Day and The Ascension.
It was time for another in-ring promo between Rusev and Summer Rae. The pair spoke about Monday's event with Lana. Rusev then had a match against Jack Swagger, who received a big hometown pop since he resides in the Oklahoma. Rusev won the match, but he tried to continue attacking Swagger. Swagger, however, countered Rusev, and the latter applied the Patriot Lock.
Stardust defeated R-Truth. After the match, Stardust spoke, but he was interrupted, and attacked by Neville.
It was time for the main event. Owens and Rollins formed a tag team to face Cesaro and a mystery partner. Cesaro picked Dean Ambrose, and they defeated Owens and Rollins. The finish saw Ambrose avoid a Pop-up Powerbomb by Owens, and then rolled him up for the pin.
Notably missing in the "SmackDown" taping was Becky Lynch vs. WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella in a non-title match. Lynch was at Tuesday's taping, but for "WWE Main Event's" broadcast. Lynch defeated Brie Bella.
"WWE SmackDown" airs weekly on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on SyFy.
