Fantasy Football 2015 Rankings & Draft: Top 5 Quarterbacks to Pick This Season
Another exciting NFL season is almost here football fans.
Game-winning touchdowns, controversial calls, and amazing runs are just weeks away. But, we also can't forget about the gift that is Fantasy Football. Without a doubt the biggest and most crucial decision one makes each year surrounds the quarterback position. Quarterbacks accumulate by far the most points in Fantasy Football leagues.
Here are the top five quarterbacks you should consider this year.
1. Andrew Luck
He's young, the Indianapolis Colts play in a terrible division, and he's a proven quarterback who stays healthy. Last season Andrew Luck led the entire NFL in passing touchdowns with 40, and he had a career high 4,761 passing yards. There's nothing not to love here, especially when you get to face the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans four times each year. Luck is also a very stable quarterback having never missed game in his three year career. Let's also not forget the Colts added future Hall of Fame wide receiver Andre Johnson to their offensive arsenal. On top of all the high passing statistics and a weak division, Luck is also a very underrated mobile quarterback, which will score you some Fantasy points.
2. Aaron Rodgers
Another solid, safe and easy pickup here. The Green Bay Packers have an elite quarterback in Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers routinely puts up some of the best numbers in the league, and he absolutely owns the AFC North. Rodgers, like Luck, is also a mobile quarterback, and he has great targets to throw to in Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. What makes Rodgers such a valuable addition is his efficiency. Last season Rodgers threw 38 touchdowns to just five interceptions with a 112.2 passer rating.
3. Peyton Manning
Even though Peyton Manning turned 39 years old this offseason, his "demise" has been greatly over exaggerated. He tore a quad muscle late in the season last year, but still had 39 passing touchdowns, which was second most in the league. He'll have his favorite target in Demaryius Thomas back as well. C.J. Anderson will provide a stable running game, thus opening up the passing game downfield. As long as Manning is throwing passes, he's always going to be an elite Fantasy Football pick.
4. Ben Roethlisberger
Don't count on the Pittsburgh Steelers winning games because of their defense this year. Dick LeBeau is gone, and the Steelers are far more reliant on their offense than ever before. Ben Roethlisberger led the NFL in passing yards last season with 4,952. He also had 32 passing touchdowns last year. Roethlisberger will get his fair share of drop backs, but he has plenty of help from superstar wide out Antonio Brown and tight end Heath Miller. With running back Le'Veon Bell suspended the first two games, Roethlisberger will have to pass quite a bit against the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers.
5. Tony Romo
With just one pick left, this was a tough one. Drew Brees no longer has Jimmy Graham to throw to and he can be pretty turnover prone. Phillip Rivers won't have Antonio Gates for the first four games of the season because of suspension. At the moment, Tom Brady is still suspended four games. That brings us to Tony Romo. Romo won't have Demarco Murray anymore, but he's proven to be very successful without him. Dez Bryant, Jason Witten, Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley provide Romo with very reliable targets to throw to. On top of that, Romo benefits from having the best offensive line in front of him.
