Denver Broncos fans are gearing up for another "championship or bust" season.

The Broncos have absolutely dominated the AFC West since Peyton Manning arrived. In all three seasons since Manning has been a Bronco, this team has won the division while putting up at least 12 wins in the process. Perhaps the most glaring statistic of all, the Broncos are an amazing 17-1 against divisional opponents over the last three seasons.

The Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders just haven't had an answer.

But the Broncos and John Elway aren't interested in hanging division banners at Mile High Stadium. Manning is now 39 years old, and the window is closing. The Broncos lost a few key players this offseason and they also have a new coach after Elway elected to fire John Fox. Gary Kubiak is now the man in Denver.

Without a doubt the biggest move the Broncos made was locking up star wide receiver Demaryius Thomas to a new contract. Thomas was phenomenal last season with 1,619 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. Paired with one of the best deep threats in the league in Emmanuel Sanders, the Broncos have one of the best passing attacks in the NFL. Manning threw 39 touchdowns last season, the second most in the league behind only Andrew Luck.

Thomas and Sanders will have to be on point once again this season, because tight end Julius Thomas is now with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Broncos' biggest loss may have been defensive tackle Terrance Knighton. Knighton is one of the best run stoppers in the game today, but opted to sign a one year contract with the Washington Redskins this offseason. Last season the Broncos run defense ranked second in league in yards allowed. Adjustments have to be made on the inside.

The Broncos have no issues on the outside whatsoever thanks to DeMarco Ware and Von Miller. Miller and Ware combined for 34 sacks last season.

Here is where things get a little tricky. The Broncos have a good pass rush, but their secondary has been exposed numerous times against elite quarterbacks in critical situations. For example, the Broncos secondary ranked ninth in yards allowed and created the seventh most interceptions last season. Unfortunately, they ranked 25th overall in passing touchdowns allowed. Cornerback Aqib Talib has been known to take a lot of chances, not always for the better.

This season the Broncos have to face notable quarterbacks such as Tom Brady, Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger and Philip Rivers. 

The worst news this offseason pertained to offensive lineman Ryan Clady. Clady tore his ACL in March, and he will miss the entire season. Manning obviously isn't a mobile quarterback, so pocket protection is a must. Considering the fact that Manning is arguably the smartest and best line of scrimmage field general ever, he should be able to figure this out.

The most anticipated player to watch may very well be running back C.J. Anderson. Although undrafted, Anderson played terrific last season after Montee Ball got injured. Anderson went on to run for 849 yards, averaging an impressive 4.7 yards per carry. If Anderson can provide the same balanced attack as last season, the Broncos will once again be a force. The Broncos always seem to find running back gems. Remember Terrell Davis in the sixth round?

The Broncos do have a pretty interesting schedule. They only play at home in two of the first six games before heading into their bye week. It ends on a tough note against some strong teams, but the Broncos play at home in four of their last six games.

Prediction

The Broncos will win the AFC West for a fifth consecutive season. From that point on, it will depend on Manning's health on just how far they go in the playoffs. With Brady suspended, and the Steelers having a very suspect defense, they have to take advantage of this season. If Manning is OK, the Broncos should represent the AFC in the Super Bowl for the second time in the last three years.
