'Power' Season 2 Spoilers: Renewed for Third Season, Big Character Might Die in Season 2 Finale
There are just a couple more episodes left in "Power" Season 2, but the hit series will be renewed for a third season.
Starz has already ordered 10 episodes for Season 3, according to Variety. The Season 2 premiere set a record on June 6 becoming one of the most-watched episodes of an original series in the channel's history, bringing in 1.43 million viewers.
"Power" stars actor Omari Hardwick as James "Ghost" St. Patrick, a big time drug dealer and club owner, whose mistress is the top federal agent after his head. Little does she know that Hardwick is the person she is after.
Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson also stars in the hit series as a drug dealer who tries taking over the game after his return home from a long prison sentence. The rapper also acts as one of the showrunners along with Mark Canton, Randall Emmett, Gary Lennon and Courtney Kemp Agboh.
"I am thrilled to learn that season three of 'Power' has been officially ordered by Starz. It is an honor to work with Chris Albrecht, Carmi Zlotnik, Ken Segna and the whole Starz team. Their support has been steadfast from the beginning, and I look forward to a bright future together," Agboh said.
"'Power' is a project I have been passionate about since day one," 50 Cent added. "I am glad the audience loves the show as much as we do, and we are just getting started."
The second season is coming to an end as the feds close in on Hardwick. Meanwhile, 50 Cent hinted that a major character will die during the Season 2 finale, although he did not specify further, The Urban Daily Screen reports.
50 Cent's character, Kanan, has been killing a lot of people to reach the top of the drug underworld, and he has put Ghost and his partners out of business. Will Kanan kill Ghost to get what he wants? Or will Ghost kill Kanan to stop the madness?
Tune into Starz on Saturdays at 9 p.m. to find out.
