UFC President Dana White drew flak from people as he called WWE pro wrestling a fake on Twitter. Many supporters of the wrestling entertainment company came to its defense and took to the micro blogging site to air their dismay.

It all started when White replied to a fan's comment on Twitter. The UFC head was actively posting some updates and checking on the build-up to the main event of UFC 190 between Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia when he replied to a user's remark about the pay-per-view event.

Twitter user @RKORollins posted the following message on Twitter to express his desire to catch the highly touted match: "I wish I could watch the Rousey fight tmrw night. Vince got you beat there @danawhite. Our PPV's are only $9.99"

The UFC president responded to the tweet, posting, "I hear u bro but fake s**t should be 9.99"

The fan did not back down and defended that WWE is real and even told White to "try it out some time" before coming back on Twitter to say that what the wrestlers do is fake.

The UFC chief was not going to be swayed and relayed his message once more. "@RKORollins trust me my friend... It's FAKE," he added.

Since then, many other fans of the sport criticized White's comments. Some wrestlers also joined the fray, with Seth Rollins sharing his two-cents worth of opinion sarcastically.

"Guys, cut @danawhite some slack. I mean he's had a million matches, so his opinion is super valid and should be taken as gospel," tweeted the wrestler.

Jeremey Borash from Total Nonstop Action Wrestling also responded to the remark he felt was uncalled for.

"Legit cancelled my UFC buy for tonight. Instead sending $50 to @NikBali, a UK wrestler paralyzed during a fake wrestling match. @danawhite," posted Borash. But the UFC head retorted with saying, "@jeremyBorash it's free in the UK goofball."

While White's comments drew the ire of many wrestling fans, he clarified that he did not mean to be rude with his comments.

"@RKORollins not disrespecting what they do. All the WWE guys I have met are awesome people but yes it's fake," he maintained.

It is a known fact that White is friends with Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson and CM Punk. Brock Lesnar, who has since returned to WWE, was also once a star of UFC, reported What Culture.

TNA's Bully Ray reminded White of this truth.

"Good thing you had 'FAKE' @BrockLesnar in @ufc to be your biggest PPV draw of al time. Sir, 'do the right thing' and apologize to THE INDUSTRY that laid the groundwork for YOUR industry. Have a great show tonight," the wrestler posted.

White has not issued any apology or further comments on the matter.
