Paralyzed Rafe Biggs Finds Sexual Pleasure With His Thumb
Nine years ago Rafe Biggs' life changed forever. He fell off of a roof and broke his neck, completely paralyzing him from the waist down. Then a year later, his life changed forever again.
After his fall, Biggs did not believe he would ever be able to enjoy sexual pleasure again. He had given up all of hope of that until his girlfriend at the time started sucking on his thumb. It was then that he felt something quite peculiar.
"I felt this build-up of energies and felt I was getting closer and closer to orgasm. When I did it was one wave of pleasure after another - it was amazing. I never thought it would be possible, but massaging and sucking on my thumb, feels a lot like my penis used to feel - it's really hot," says Biggs, who refers to his thumb as his "surrogate penis."
This appears to be more than just a sensitive thumb, however. Biggs seems to legitimately get many of the same sensations with his thumb that he used to with his penis.
As hard as it is to believe, this is not a new phenomenon in the realm of sex therapy. Biggs has regular sessions with sex therapist Lisa Carle, and she explains that his newfound penis is not only real, but is also an excellent way to reduce the daily pain he lives with.
"What Rafe is experiencing is a 'transfer orgasm' - where another place on the body gives the same sensation. He has significant reduction in pain after a session."
To his credit, Biggs is doing more than just twiddling his thumbs. He also hopes to raise awareness of the struggles that paralyzed people go through and act as an advocate for those with disabilities.
"A lot of people have this idea that those with a disability aren't interested in sex or can't have sex. It's not true," Biggs said, according to HuffPost UK. "I'm trying to change that perception and generally support people, whatever their disability, to create intimate, loving relationships.
