Justin Bieber Zone: Star's Lawyers File Motion; Will Photos Be Leaked?
Another day, another bit of Justin Bieber controversy: this time, attorneys for The Biebs are trying to block so-called "nude" photos of the embattled pop star from being leaked.
According to MSN News, the photos came about while Bieber was in the custody of Miami Beach's finest. While he was under arrest, he was forced to undress himself, and have his "personal parts" photographed by law enforcement. It's these photos that Bieber's lawyers want to prevent from hitting the web (regardless of the payday that the lucky blog will receive as a result of displaying the Little Bieber).
"While in custody at the Miami Beach police station the defendant was captured on videotape in various states of undress which show intimate personal parts of the defendant's body," the motion states, noting that the Florida constitution and state law prevent such images from being publicly disclosed.
And, according to The Today Show, attorneys for the Beebs brought this motion because several media outlets -- citing the Freedom of Information Act (which is, I'm sure, EXACTLY what the proponents of the bill had in mind when they filed it... the freedom to get penis pics of pop stars) -- have already e-mailed the Miami Beach police department requesting the photos.
The Miami Beach police department, needless to say, has declined comment on all of it.
On Jan. 23, 2014, Bieber was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida, on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI), driving with an (over six months) expired licence and for resisting arrest without violence. According to police, Bieber was driving a Lamborghini and R&B singer Khalil, who was also arrested, was driving a Ferrari. He was released on a $2,500 bond. A toxicology report revealed that Bieber had THC (a component in marijuana) and the anti-anxiety medication Xanax in his system at the time of his arrest. On Jan. 29, 2014, Bieber surrendered to Toronto police, who charged him with assaulting a limousine driver in Toronto in December 2013.
