A new expansion pack for World of Warcraft is coming soon, according to Gotta Be Mobile. The World of Warcraft: Legion expansion pack was announced this week at Gamescom 2015.

World of Warcraft has been an extremely popular online role-playing game for years, but with new titles and systems entering the gaming world, an update was needed. 

The upgrade to World of Warcraft will come with new explorable areas, new creatable characters and new weapons to use.

World of Warcraft is struggling to retain players due to the way it operates. The game needs users to purchase new expansion packs and pay a monthly subscription fee to survive. These subscription fees have caused some players to flee from the game. A new expansion pack like Legion could help bring back interest in World of Warcraft.

Before World of Warcraft: Legion is released, players will get a chance to test it out through a beta release sometime this year, according to a press release sent out to video game outlets by developer Blizzard. The beta could last a little while before the actual full version is made available to the public.

World of Warcraft: Legion is getting a brand new continent called Broken Isles. Adding new explorable areas is what World of Warcraft has done in past expansions to excited players wanting more variety. Blizzard revealed what the continent will look like in maps released Thursday. Broken Isles is a massive set of small regions separated by bodies of waters and rivers. 

Broken Isles will include the regions of Highmountain, Stormhelm, Suramar, Val'Sharah and Azsuna in the north. All by itself at the bottom of the map is Thal'Dranath. 

These extra regions will also be accompanied by more levels in the new expansion pack. Players will be able to go all the way to level 110 in the game, if they have the time and effort. Players will also be able to upgrade their characters all the way up to level 100. 

A new character will also be made available in World of Warcraft: Legion called the Demon Hunter. The Demon Hunter can transform into a demon and also includes new weapons and powerups.
