Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Specs & Rumors: Note 5's Packaging Leaks Online, 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Display Confirmed?
Photos of the Galaxy Note 5 handset have been circulating over the Internet these past few weeks. The prototypes have been captured in multiple angles and from different parts of the globe.
While Samsung won't be unveiling the product for another four days, previous online leaks have done their share in lessening the anticipation surrounding the latest offering from the Galaxy Note series. Yet for eager buyers as well as casual fans, who cares? The leaks have done more good than harm anyway.
In addition to what has already been known, another batch of Note 5 stills has surfaced online, which has totally left nothing to the imagination regarding the handset but then again, who's complaining?
The recent images are unique in the sense that they don't actually show off the device. Instead, they spotlight the handset's box revealing some of the Galaxy Note 5's specifications. Take a look at the images here and here.
According to Phone Arena, the new leaks cropped up over the weekend from Thailand.
As stated on the packaging, the Note 5 will feature a 64 Bit Octa-core chipset, which was earlier reported to be the CPU/GPU-level processor "Exynos 7420." The handset comes with a whopping 4,100 mAh lithium polymer battery, 4GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage, although, 64GB and 128GB variants have been reported in the past. The handset is fitted with a 16MP main camera with OIS and a 5MP front shooter.
The box also confirmed a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display for the Note 5. This could mean that the device would consume a considerably lesser amount of power than common TFT or LCD-backed smartphones while still maintaining top-level screen performance. Furthermore, the display will feature a 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution.
Another interesting detail is that the Note 5 will be able to support wireless charging via charging pad. As Samsung earlier announced on their official blogsite: "It is expected that 2015 will be a landmark year for the growth of wireless charging deployment, as wireless charging stations will begin to appear in more and more public places. Samsung will accelerate to democratize this wireless charging technology with compelling smartphones. With our upcoming Galaxy smartphones, users will be able to enter a new wireless world like never before."
Samsung is set to officially announce the Galaxy Note 5 plus two other devices at its "Unpacked" event in New York on Aug. 13, while rumor has it that the tech giant is to release the Note 5 in selected stores on Aug. 21.
