Jennifer Lopez's new song has already been a hit single all summer long. The singer's latest musical collaboration was revealed on Aug. 8, when the song "El Mismo Sol" premiered on New York radio stations like Z100 and KTU .

Lopez announced the premiere of the new single on her Instagram account and featured a clip of the song.

According to Popsugar, the tune, originally sung by Spanish singer Alvaro Soler, has been playing on radio stations and leading the charts in various countries, like Switzerland, Italy and Belgium, all summer long.

When it came time to premiere the song in the United States, Alvaro looked to team up with a mainstream hitmaker, like Lopez, to take the song to a new level. Soler teased the song's release on his Twitter page, but gave no word on when the song will be available for purchase.

Besides music, Lopez has been busy working on her latest television project "Shades of Blue," which was picked up by NBC for the 2015-2016 television season.

The Ryan Seacrest-produced drama will star Lopez as Harlee McCord, a dirty cop and single mother who is recruited to work undercover for the FBI's anti-corruption task force, reported The Hollywood Reporter.

NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke praised Lopez and her involvement in the upcoming police drama.

"Whether it's producing, acting, singing or any of her other many entrepreneurial activities, Jennifer is an extraordinary talent and life force, and we're delighted to be in business with her and Adi Hasak on this sophisticated show," Salke said.

"We're especially excited that Jennifer is returning to her acting roots from such great movies as 'Out of Sight' and we know that she will create this complicated character in a vivid way that will breathe new life into the cop show genre."
