Most of the news surrounding the next iPhone has been focused on the larger iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus that are expected to be announced at an Apple event in September. Now, rumors are pointing to a third iPhone release, the iPhone 6c.

A well-known leak source on Twitter, Evan Blass, was the first to make the announcement about the iPhone 6c. The iPhone 6c would be a small-screened version of the iPhone 6S and likely made with less durable materials.

Apple's iPhone announcement event is expected to be held on Sept. 9. At the event, it has been expected that Apple would announce the iPhone 6S, the iPhone 6S Plus, a new iPad and an updated version of the Apple TV. Adding the iPhone 6c to the list of products would make for a pretty packed day for Apple.

Blass has been pretty accurate with previous leaks, so believing him on this one is acceptable.

The features on the iPhone 6c are mostly unknown, but it is expected to include less premium features than the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.

The iPhone 6c might use a plastic body instead of metal to save money and make it more affordable to consumers, according to Tech Radar.

The processor in the iPhone 6c would likely be the older A8 processor that is used in the iPhone 6c. This is still a powerful processor, but nowhere near what is expected in the A9 processor that will probably be used in the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.

TouchID and NFC features could make it to the iPhone 6c, Tech Radar reports. This would make the phone capable of using Apple Pay.

Most of the other features on the iPhone 6c are expected to be very similar to the iPhone 6. This is very similar to what the iPhone 5c did by copying the iPhone 5.

The price of the iPhone 6c is expected to be much less than the iPhone 6S and is aimed at budget consumers. The off-contract price of the iPhone 6c could start at $400.
