'Fast & Furious 7' Release Date & Cast Updates: Lucas Black Joins NCIS New Orleans
Fast & Furious star Lucas Black has been cast to join the crew to appear in the CBS' NCIS planted spinoff.
Black is slated to play NCIS special agent Lasalle, a no-nonsense agent with a "work hard, play hard" motto. Lasalle is a longtime resident of New Orleans, where the spinoff is set, says the Hollywood Reporter.
Nola reports "NCIS: New Orleans" is a proposed spin-off of the hugely popular CBS procedural, executive produced by Gary Glasberg and the star of the original series, Mark Harmon. CBS already has announced the casting of Scott Bakula as Special Agent Pride, Zoe McLellan as Special Agent Brody and CCH Pounder as Dr. Wade, the Jefferson Parish medical examiner.
Lasalle's character relocated to New Orleans as a kid and his personality is full of the city's edge, fun and sexiness and as a federal agent, Lasalle believes in doing what's right no matter what.
This spinoff which is presently untitled will be set in the NCIS New Orleans field office which covers cases spanning the Gulf Coast, from the Texas panhandle in the west through Mississippi and Louisiana to Pensacola to the east.
Black who is represented ICM Partners, is set to reprise his role from The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift of Sean Boswell in the upcoming Fast & Furious 7. However, production of the film has been put on hold following the tragic death of star Paul Walker in a car accident a few months back.
The actor has already made a name for himself in Hollywood and has appeared in a number of hits including 42, Friday Night Lights movie as well as two Fast & Furious series.
The spin-off is being piloted as a back door pilot which will air as a two-part episode of NCIS in the spring. CBS Television Studios is producing with Gary Glasberg and Mark Harmon serving as executive producers, reports TV Wise.
