Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota Purchases $1.05M Nashville Penthouse
Newly-signed Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota has just acquired a luxury condo unit in Nashville.
The Titans' first-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft purchased the Tennessee penthouse worth $1.05 million, Tennessean reported.
The property has several notable features, which may have impressed the young football athlete. The 1,890-square-foot home has an airy ambiance courtesy of its soaring ceilings measuring 15-foot high and an open floor plan area. The unit also has three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms.
The brokerage firms that negotiated the deal were the Ashton Real Estate of RE/MAX Elite and PARKS real estate agency.
'Dream come true'
The 2014 Heisman Trophy winner expressed his gratitude and excitement after formally signing with the team in July.
"Thank you to the Tennessee Titans organization as well as my agent for making a dream come true. I am very grateful and honored to have this opportunity. I look forward to the future with my teammates, and I'm truly excited to be part of this team," Mariota said, as quoted on the Titans' website.
Titans Executive Vice President and General Manager Ruston Webster also welcomed the 21-year-old quarterback with open arms.
"We are glad to have the deal with Marcus done...This is an exciting time for the Tennessee Titans organization, and we look forward to a bright future," Webster said in a statement.
Mike Garafolo posted details of the contract on his Twitter account.
Mariota tallied 4,454 passing yards and 42 passing touchdowns during his last season with the Oregon Ducks and is believed to be a great asset to the Titans.
Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt explained how Mariota's role in the team will play out.
"Defenders, for instance, on the backside, they will close a little bit harder then a quarterback that doesn't run because they know the chances of him booting or naked-ing out are slimmer... What [a quarterback like Mariota] will do will cause a pause in that backside fill which will create a seam for the back to get through -- just because of him naked-ing out on a fake holding that back side," Whisenhunt told ESPN.
