The Five Nights at Freddy's 4 indie point-and-click survival horror video game from developer Scott Cawthon takes place inside a house -- a much different arena than the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza security office, where players monitored a video feed in the first three games.

What makes this final chapter of the game series also different is that the player uses sound and light to monitor the bedroom for encroaching and homicidal animatronics. In gameplay, monitoring the bedroom doors is vital to survival, but now and again you need to turn around and shine your flashlight at the bed. Little Freddies like to gather there, and if too many pile up, Freddy Fazbear -- or worse, the head of Nightmare Fredbear if you are playing Night Five -- will end your game life in a horrifying manner.

Nightmare Freddy only appears in the bedroom if the player has failed to ward off the three smaller versions of him, known as the Little Freddies, which congregate on the bed.

What to do if the Closet Door Creaks in Five Nights at Freddy's 4

There is no need to check the bedroom closet until you hear the closet door creak or see it move. If either happens, it means that Foxy is in the room. Check the closet as part of your routine patrol going forward.

When you check the closet, more often than not, Foxy will jump out when you shine your flashlight inside. If you act quickly and shut the door on Foxy as soon as he's visible, you will survive.

It is important to note that if you are playing Night Five, it could be Nightmare Fredbear in the closet instead of Foxy.

Nightmare Fredbear Works Alone on Night Five

Nightmare Fredbear stalks you exclusively on Night Five. No other animatronics will be on the prowl. While this may sound like good news, it isn't.

When you peek out the bedroom door to look down the hall, if you see Nightmare Fredbear and shine your flashlight at him, it causes him to approach you instead of retreat. If you open the bedroom door and hear him approaching from either direction, immediately close the door.

You should use good quality headphones while playing Five Nights at Freddy's 4 to ensure that you can hear him approach.

As mentioned above, he also hides in the closet. There are rumors that he sometimes appears on the bed. Be sure to monitor those areas as you would on any other night.

Lastly, the animatronics become increasingly more aggressive as the nights progress.
