Miley Cyrus 2014 Tour Locations and Schedule: Bangerz Tour Starts Friday in Canada
The ever-controversial Miley Cyrus has expressed hopes that her global Bangerz tour will be "educational" to children. In an effort to avoid bad publicity, the pop star has ruled out any twerking on her upcoming tour, but she remains confident that she'll nevertheless be treating youngsters to "a new form of art." "I think my show is educational for kids," Miley said in a recent interview. "They're going to be exposed to art most people don't know about."
Apparently tired of being judged merely by what she's wearing, Miley wants her "art" to be appreciated on its own merits. "I don't want it to just be about the clothes," she said. "I want to make all my content look high end, something that you would see on Madonna's tour, but then just make it feel a lot more young."
For any parents of Miley fans who might be nurturing the fond hope that this is the start of a reformed Miley Cyrus, it probably isn't worth getting too optimistic. Last night on stage, sporting a skimpy leotard, she frolicked happily with most of her hindmost region on display. Then, just in case anyone had missed it, she was kind enough to share a snap of her posterior on Instagram for her 9 million followers.
Miley's antics have caused her to be openly criticised by some of the biggest names in music, with Sinead O'Connor suggesting to her that, "The message you keep sending is that it is somehow cool to be prostituted ... its so not cool Miley ... its dangerous."
Announced in October 2013, the Bangerz tour is Miley's fourth concert tour, and begins on Friday in Vancouver, Canada. She's in for a busy few months, with 38 shows in North America followed by another 21 shows in Europe.
