One Direction News, Songs And Update: 1D Set For Glee Debut; Niall Horan In A Twitter War With British Rugby Star Mike Phillips
One Directioners, set your DVRs: your favorite boys will be appearing on an upcoming episode of the smash hit show, Glee!
The U.K.'s Mirror has confirmed that 1D -- who have already had two of their songs featured on the hit "musical" show -- spoke to Matthew Morrison, who plays Will Scheuster, about the possibility of the British boy band appearing on the show as a celebrity cameo as students, and he agrees that it would be a fantastic idea. "To have One Direction on would be great for the show. They are not much older than High School age so we could have them as students," he said.
Of course, the 1D boys aren't the only "dream guest stars" the cast members would like to see on the show. In the same interview, Jane Lynch -- who plays Sue Sylvester -- revealed that she'd like to see everyone's favorite British curmudgeon, Simon Cowell, guest-star as a judge on the show. Now that would be interesting!
Meanwhile, in other band news, Twitter continues to make life miserable for the boys, as it's been revealed that Niall Horan's boisterous claim of being "bigger than The Beatles" has raised a few eyebrows in the music community. (Of course, a more eagle-eyed observer would note that this claim onto itself is a bit of a hat-tip to The Beatles themselves, who drew the ire of many an American radio station when John Lennon proclaimed that The Beatles "were bigger than Jesus.")
So when rugby player Mike Phillips got called out on Twitter by Niall, according to Metro, the rugby player took the first opportunity he could to take a pot-shot at the boy bander.
It started when Niall started live-tweeting during a rugby match, and made the following comment: "Mike Philips is like a child throwing his toys out of the pram [baby carriage]! his attitude is terrible, looks like a right arrogant idiot."
Phillips was none-too-pleased, and tweeted right back: "Come down to training in the week, big boy. Bring the rest of The Beatles with you."
And this, boys, is why you need to hire a social media manager...
